The members of Newnan Girls Night Out enjoy a wide variety of events and activities. Here are some of the activities that our gals from Newnan, Coweta County, and nearby areas really enjoy.
Eating Out
We love to showcase our town and all that it has to offer. Dining out in Newnan is one of our favorite activities. We schedule morning coffees, lunches a couple of times a month, and once a month we try and plan an evening out for dinner. We don't always stay in Newnan if there is somewhere nearby that one of our members wants to try. If there is a new place in town, you can be sure we've been there!
Local and Community Events
Main Street Newnan sponsors many events during the year in historic downtown. We always try to attend the annual Art Walk, Octoberfest, and the Summer Wined-up events. These are great ways to meet your neighbors, too.
The members of Newnan Girls Night Out often go to movies showing locally, and on occasion attend concerts and community theatre.
Book Club
On the third Wednesday of each month, we meet at the home of one of our members. We rotate hosting duties among those who enjoy hosting this event. We always have plenty of great snacks, and the occasional bottle of bubbly or other libation will appear. Our book club is one of our more popular events.
Game Night
Who doesn't enjoy our game night! There are always plenty of laughs to go around, plus some exercise of "the little gray cells" on occasion!
Game night is a regular event hosted at the home of any member willing to volunteer. We don't have a set type of game - anything goes and it is the host's choice. There is also good food and some members will bring a bottle of wine to share.
Outdoor Activities
NGNO aspires to include some outdoor activities, but it is truly not our focus.
In the past there have been some great hikes, a rafting trip, and some lovely garden tours. We recently had a tea party at Dunaway Gardens in Newnan.
Craft Night
There are several "crafty" ladies in our midst who inspire us regularly to create works of art. We have painted, sewed, made jewelry, and assembled cork signs just to name a few.
Parties
Any excuse for a party! New Years, Christmas, St. Patrick's Day, Valentine's Day ... you name it, we celebrate it! Usually these activities take place at a member's home.
Our group has participated in a wide range of other activities as well, such as visiting the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and touring old town LaGrange.
A current favorite activity is "Music Bingo" at a local tavern. You wouldn't believe the musical knowledge some of our ladies have! But win or lose, it's always a great time and a chance to hear old favorites and learn new songs.
